Karrie had her annual appointment at Shriner's Hospital on August 11th. For over a year now, Karrie and Ashley have been asking if we could go visit President Hinckley's grave, so after the appointment, Karrie, Ashley and I went to the Salt Lake City Cemetery. We were able to visit the graves of 8 of the 11 Prophets who are buried there. Those that we were able to see were: John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, Heber J. Grant, Joseph F. Smith, Joseph Fielding Smith, David O. McKay, Spencer W. Kimball and Gordon B. Hinckley. We didn't have a map so we found the ones we could. We want to go back with a map so we can find the graves of the three prophets and many apostles that we missed. What a special experience it was to visit our beloved Prophets who have passed on. We also enjoyed looking at the very old headstones, many of them pioneers who setttled here. Karrie and Ashley want to bring flowers next time to put on the Prophet's graves.
After our visit to the cemetery, we went to the Pioneer Memorial Museum (something else I have been promising my girls we would visit). Karrie and I had been there many years ago on school field trip. It is amazing! There is so much to see that we could not do it all in the time we had. I promised them that we would go back soon and finish the tour. I did order a picture of my Great, Great, Great Grandfather Jacob Lindsay Workman while I was there. I tried to in vain to find his picture in the hundreds and hundreds of pictures of pioneers hanging in the museum. Hopefully next time I will find it...

Oooh Bonnie...I'm so jealous. I would love to visit that cemetery.
I definately want to go with you next time! We need to make a day of it. What a neat experience and memory to make with your girls! I can't wait to see you this weekend at the Wilkerson/Workman reunion.
