Snowed In on Christmas Day!
We were snowed in on Christmas Day! Not only was it snowing, but the winds were blowing hard. There was no visibility until the evening. We were not able to go to visit any family so we stayed home all day.
Ashley woke up at 4:45 am! We told her to go back to bed! We all got up around 6:15 am because the girls could not wait any longer. Despite not getting to see our families, it was a wonderful Christmas! We relaxed, the girls played with their new stuff, and we watched movies. Of course we had to go shovel so we could get out the next day. We shoveled in the early evening when there was a break in the snow. Wow, it took us two hours of shoveling! We had 4-4 1/2 foot piles of snow in our yard after shoveling, so we went sledding in our front yard! The girls loved it!
Christmas Eve 2008
On Christmas Eve we had dinner at Grandpa and Grandmommy Shaw's house (Bonnie's parents). Grandpa Shaw read the nativity and then the kids opened presents. Wes, Amy and the girls were there also. It is a good thing that we exchanged all of our presents since we didn't make it down on Christmas day. The girls had fun playing with their cousins Katelynn (3) and Elizabeth (10 months). We knew the storm was coming so we left before it hit. It hit around 9:30 pm.
Halloween 2008
On Halloween we made a quick trip to Bountiful to see Grandma Jones. Bonnie made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner and we had it with our friends the Pursers, then the kids headed out to Trick-or Treat. It was a fun Halloween. Karrie was, of course, a scary scream person (she has always loved the scary costumes). Ashley was a cute witch with pink hair. Mike has dressed up for work since last year. I think he outdid himself this year; he was a maid. But hey, he won an ipod at the work Halloween party and gave it to Bonnie, so way to go Mike!

Gardner Village
Amy and the girls came up to go to Gardner Village with us. We met our cousin Jenny there and walked around, then had lunch at Archibalds. It was very crowded because it was the annual "Witches Night Out". But it was such a beautiful day and we really enjoyed visiting with Jenny. Jenny had just moved into her condo the day before. Mike, the girls and I had gone over last night after Jenny moved in. Mike helped install some things for Jenny. I am so happy for her because it is a nice condo and I think she will love having her own place.
Wasatch State Park
On Monday October 20th, we went up to Midway/Heber to Wasatch State Park. We went with Stacie Purser and her kids. The weather was beautiful! The kids had so much fun feeding the ducks, playing on the playground etc. After playing at the park we went and saw the crater at The Homestead, then went and had ice cream.

Pumpkins!
We went to the pumpkin patch on Monday, September 29. The girls were able to pick out some pumpkins, and go through the kiddie corn maze. On Sunday, October 5, we went to Grandpa and Grandma Jones to watch conference and have lunch. It is a Jones tradition that every year the grandchildren get to pick out their pumpkins from Grandma's pumpkin patch. Our family loves this time of year!

Karrie is 13!
Karrie turned 13 on August 24, 2008. Where has all the time gone? She is officially a teenager (fun times for us!) and she is in the eighth grade. Instead of having a family get together, Karrie chose to have a sleepover with her friends for her birthday. She and her friends had pizza, played badminton, watched movies and stayed up until 2 am! We had a houseful of teenage girls!

Passing of My Grandpa Shaw
My Grandpa, Glenn Charles Shaw passed away on August 5, 2008 at the age of 97. I miss him but he must be so happy to be with my Grandma who passed on 12 years before him. He lived a long and wonderful life. I love you Grandpa! It is hard to believe that I have no more living Grandparents. There is definitely a void in my life. I can't wait until the day when I can see them again!
Ashley's Baptism
On May 31, 2008 Ashley Mae Jones was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What a special day! Many family and friends came to see Ashley baptized. Ashley is such a sweet and loving girl. We are proud that she chose to be baptized. Ashley, we love you very much!
Ashley's 8th Birthday
On May 14, 2008 Ashley turned 8 years old. Ashley celebrated by having a party at the Lion House. Friends and cousins came to the party and it was so much fun! They heard pioneer stories, pulled taffy, played games and learned about the history of Brigham Young and the Lion House. Ashley thinks this was the best birthday party ever.

Passing of My Grandmother
My sweet and precious Grandmother, Lillie Mae Wilkerson passed away on February 9, 2008. She was 95 years old. I love her dearly and feel like a little piece of me went with her. As much as my family and I miss her, I am so grateful that she is with my Granddaddy and is not suffering any longer. My Grandmother was a sweet little southern lady, born and raised in South Carolina. She was a great example not only to me but to my two girls. Ashley and Karrie were very blessed to have not only known their Great Grandmother, but to have had a close relationship with her. I am so blessed to have such a remarkable Grandmother! I love you Grandmother, and I can't wait to see you again!
