Ashley's 10th Birthday
Ashley Mae Jones was born on Sunday, May 14, 2000, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was Mother's Day and who could ask for a better gift? Ashley weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz. and was 17 inches long. She was born 7 weeks premature, and had to be in the Newborn ICU for 4 weeks before she could come home. Karrie was so excited to have a baby sister, and they have been close ever since!
Ashley's middle name "Mae" is after her Great Grandmother Lillie Mae Wilkerson. How appropriate since they became very close when Great Grandmommy Lillie moved out to Utah.
Ashley is a happy girl who loves life! She has always been a Mommy's girl and still is. She loves ballet, playing with her sister (Karrie) and with friends, and playing Barbies. She is very affectionate and loving. Ashley has brought so much happiness to our family and we love her so much!
Ashley chose to go to dinner for her birthday celebration at "Outback Steakhouse". Some of her presents were: Rollerblades, helmet, knee and elbow pads, MP3 player, a Mermaid Barbie, Selena Gomez Cd, and a Nintendogs game. She ended the day by having a spend the night party with her Mommy (per her request). Her Dad had to go sleep in her bed!
Happy 10th Birthday, Ashley! We love you!!

Mother's Day 2010
This was the second Mother's Day without my Mother. It was a little easier this year, although no Mother's Day will ever be the same without her here! How very blessed I am to have had such a sweet and loving Mother! How thankful I am to be a Mother to my sweet and beautiful daughters! I learned so much from the righteous and loving example of my Mother. The person I am today, I owe to her. I only hope that I am such an example to my two daughters. I certainly try to be. I love them so much! I hope I will always be close to them as my Mother and I were.
We went to visit Grandma Jones on Friday evening for Mother's Day. We went to dinner at Costa Vida, then visited at the house. Ashley had lots of fun playing with Grandma Jones' hair and trying different hairstyles!
On Sunday (Mother's Day) we attended church and the Primary sang in Sacrament Meeting. They sang "Mother, I Love You" and "Mother Dear". Of course I was a little emotional as I listened. My Mother loved it when we sang "Mother, I Love You" to her on Mother's Day. It brought back memories. How special it was to see my daughter, Ashley, sing it to me with the Primary.
After church, we quickly went to see my Mother's grave. Amy had put some cut flowers and wreath on it from all of us. I added some cut flowers from my garden.
When we came home, Mike cooked dinner. It was Country Fried Steak and it was delicious! He also did the dishes! He didn't want me to do anything but relax on Mother's Day! I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband!!!
For Mother's Day, the girls had painted some cute little birdhouses for me and gave me a bleeding heart plant. Both of these ideas were helped along by my sister Amy! The girls also made me beautiful cards! Mike gave me a new camera for Mother's Day! It was a beautiful day and I felt so much love from my family!!

Karrie's Spring Band Concert
On Thursday, May 6th, Karrie played in the Spring Band Concert. This was her last concert at the Fort Herriman Junior High School. She will continue to play the clarinet in High School next year. Grandpa Shaw and Grandma and Grandpa Jones came to watch her. It was a wonderful concert and we are so proud of her!

Brigham City and the Logan Temple
On Saturday, May 1st, we drove up to Brigham City and Logan. I heard from one of my friends about a lady who sells perennials from her home in Brigham City. She and her husband grow and overwinter the perennials in Bear Lake, so they are very hardy. Since I love gardening and flowers, of course I wanted to go check it out! We decided to make a day of it and go see the Logan Temple while we were up that way. It was raining almost all the way to Brigham City. We were fortunate to have it clear up while we were outside, looking at and purchasing some plants. Before we headed up to Logan, we stopped and had lunch at Maddox. On our way to Logan, it started raining and snowing very hard. It was disappointing because we could not get out and roam the Temple grounds. But my girls loved seeing the Logan Temple! What a beautiful Temple and made even more special as I reminded my girls that their Great Granddaddy and Great Grandmommy Wilkerson were sealed there on July 27, 1939! We were able to take pictures from the car and I got out (with my umbrella) and took some pictures. We stopped in Ogden on the way home and visited my Grandpa and Grandma Shaw's graves. It was a fun day in spite of the rain and snow!
April 2010
Easter and General Conference-what a wonderful combination! The Saturday before Easter we dyed Easter eggs. Woke up Easter morning to our Easter baskets, and enjoyed watching the morning session of General Conference. I was sick, so I laid in bed most of the day watching Conference. Mike and the girls went to Grandma and Grandpa Jones to visit. It was a beautiful Conference and I enjoyed listening to all of the talks! How special it was to hear from our beloved Prophet and Apostles on the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ! I was so proud of Karrie, who watched all of Conference and took notes! She is growing into such a sweet and spiritual young woman!
On April 10th, it was our 18th wedding anniversary! Mike and I went out the night before to celebrate. I can't believe it has been 18 years-how fast time goes by! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband whom I love very much! On Saturday (April 10th) we attended Olivia's baptism (my cousin Eric's daughter). It was so good to be with family, especially seeing my Aunt Breta (my Mother's sister). She has been such a comfort to me since my Mother died! My sister Amy and her family and my Dad also attended the baptism. It was a beautiful baptism!
Tuesday, April 13th, my sister Amy and I met our cousin Kaye and her family, and our cousin Jenny, at Olive Garden for lunch. We haven't seen Kaye for a while and we rarely get to see her. She and her family were here to bring their son, Christopher, to the MTC. It was another wonderful opportunity to reconnect with family!
